Brightyn + Matthew | An Editorial Engagement Session in Thibodaux, Louisiana
From the very beginning, Brightyn and Matthew’s engagement session felt less like a traditional photoshoot and more like we were creating an editorial spread together.
Photographed at a beautiful family home in Thibodaux, Louisiana, the evening gave us the perfect setting to get a little more creative than usual. We played with movement, composition, direct flash, intentional posing, and some more fashion-forward concepts—and somewhere along the way, the entire session started to feel like it belonged in the pages of a magazine.
There were moments that felt timeless and romantic, others that were completely candid, and then there were the images that made all of us stop and say, okay… this is giving Vogue.
That creative freedom is one of my favorite parts of engagement sessions. Brightyn and Matthew trusted the vision, weren't afraid to try something different, and gave me the space to create images that felt elevated and editorial while still feeling completely like them.
And knowing that this is only the beginning of their story makes these photographs even more special. Their wedding day is right around the corner, and if their engagement session is any indication of what’s to come, I already know it's going to be one worth remembering.
